Buck Creek was impassable without this bridge. Our pack train was able to carry excess baggage all the way to Bearpaw Camp, about a mile beyond and 1,000 feet above Buck Creek.
Gary rests in a snow bank obscuring the trail about a half mile short of Bearpaw Camp. The hikers covered the 11.2 miles from Crescent Meadow to Bearpaw Camp in about 6-1/2 hours, arriving in time for a hot shower before dinner.
