Ed, Will, Ben, and Gary Moselle at Crescent Meadow starting up the High Sierra Trail to Bearpaw, 11.4 miles away, on Thursday, July 27th.

Standing on a fallen log in  Bearpaw Meadow we spot a brown bear in the distance. His brown back is barely visible in this picture (can you spot him?).  We watched him for a while through our binoculars until he heard us. He took off running into the trees just left of him.  From left: Will, Kati, Gary, Amy, and Ben.
